Ivermectin 12 MG

Ivermectin is an effective method being followed for the treatment of COVID-19 across the globe. It is an antiparasitic drug approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of tropical diseases such as onchocerciasis, helminthiasis, and scabies.

This drug is commonly used for a variety of purposes and is generally well tolerated. Ivermectin has not been approved by the FDA for the treatment of any viral infection.

How does it work?

Ivermectin is an antiparasitic medication that destroys parasites. It kills the parasite by binding to glutamate-gated chloride ion channels in the nerve and muscle cells of the organism.

Ivermectin binds to glutamate-gated chloride ion channels, inducing chloride ion influx and hyperpolarization, which causes parasite paralysis and death.

What are the side effects of Ivermectin tablet?

The most common side effects are:

·         Dizziness,

·         Pruritis,

·         Nausea, and

·         Diarrhoea.

In the treatment of onchocerciasis and other parasite illnesses, Ivermectin has been associated to neurological side effects. It’s unclear if these side effects were caused by the drug or the underlying conditions.

Can Ivermectin be used for children?

In children weighing more than 15 KG, Ivermectin is used to treat helminthic infections, pediculosis, and scabies. Ivermectin’s safety in youngsters under the age of 15 KG has yet to be determined.

Ivermectin is well tolerated in youngsters, with a side effect profile similar to that of adults. There are presently no paediatric clinical trial data to support the use of Ivermectin in children for COVID-19 treatment or prevention.

How to consume Ivermectin 12 MG tablet?

Ivermectin is often taken with water on an empty stomach, but taking it with food improves absorption.

How to store the tablet?

The drug should be stored in cool and dry place at room temperature, away from the reach of children and animals.
